Today, the National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Red Flag Warning – an advisory indicating potential weather factors that may contribute to fire growth – for Sunday due to predicted low relative humidity and gusty outflow winds associated with incoming weather. The anticipated weather system is expected to bring increasing winds over the next couple of days followed by a cold front which should bring moisture to the area, potentially moderating fire behavior.
To provide for the safety of both the public and firefighters, the Caribou-Targhee National Forest has issued an area closure, described as follows:
o Beginning at the Junction of Forest Road #161 and FS Road #150 head East on FS Road #161 to FS Road #082. Head South along FS Road #082 to the Junction with FS Road #572. Then head West along FS Road #572 to FS Trail #133. Follow FS Trail #133 to the West to the Junction with FS Road #153. Follow FS Road #153 to the West to the Junction with FS Road #150. Head North along FS Road #150 until the intersection with the point of beginning.
o All trails that are within and those that make up the boundaries to this area closure are closed due to the Partridge Fire.
o All roads that are within and those that make up the boundaries to this area closure are closed except FS Road #082 and FS Road #572.
o NOTE: Fish Creek Road #082 and Big Grassy Road #572 will remain open.
