Fall Creek Prescribed Fire16 October 2015
The Caribou-Targhee National Forest has treated 127 acres over the past two days on the Fall Creek Prescribed Fire. Most of this work was done by hand, with firefighters using drip torches to ignite the fuels. Today, a helicopter from the Bridger-Teton National Forest will be utilized to light additional acreage with a helitorch. With the weather expected to remain favorable, firefighters will continue to work through the weekend to achieve the best results on the project area prior to the arrial of cooler and moist weather conditions.
