TIMBERED DOME FIRE BURNING WEST OF
ARCO, ID
IDAHO FALLS, ID – The Butte County Sherriff’s
Department reported the Timbered Dome Fire at approximately 5:30 PM on July 4,
2016. This fire is located approximately
5-miles west of Arco and is estimated at 250-acres and is being pushed by a
7-10 mile per hour southwest wind.There are four engines, one dozer at or on the way to the fire with two additional engines, a dozer, two helicopters and two 20-person hand crews ordered. Air Attack is on scene and single engine air tankers (SEATS) have been ordered from Boise to assist. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Spring Run
Fire, a single tree fire, reported the evening of 3 July 2016 at about
10:30 PM in Indian Creek near Palisades Reservoir. The one-tenth of an acre fire is being
suppressed.
The Yale Fire
located about one mile southwest of Sawtell Peak at the head of Hell Roaring
Canyon is still smoldering. The fire is
burning in a small group of whitebark pine and subalpine fir trees and received
some moisture in the past 24-hours. No
change in acreage.
The Lanes Creek
Fire also received some moisture over the past 24-hours. The fire is located about 10-miles
north-northwest of Thayne, WY. The fire has grown from 1.5 acres to 2.0 acres.
Both the Yale and Lanes Creek Fires
are being managed to allow fire to play its natural role in the ecosystem. Naturally-occurring fires can increase the
health of the forest.
