The Crestview Fire was reported around 8:43 a.m. this morning.
Resources had some difficulty accessing the fire, due to rough terrain. The
fire remained very active throughout the day.
With the help of air resources, ground crews were able to knock down the
head of the fire, and are continuing improve containment lines.

- · Location: approximately 12 miles southwest of Kimama
- · Size: estimated 1,700 acres
- · Contain: undetermined
- · Control: undetermined
- · Resources: Sawtooth National Forest engine, Notch Butte Rangeland Fire Protection Association (RFPA), West End Rural Fire Department, six BLM engines, six overhead, two dozers, and one water tender
- · Fuel type: grass, brush and juniper
- · Fire behavior: moderate fire behavior
- · Structures threatened: no immediate threat to structures- power lines are located one and half mile northeast
- · Cause: undetermined
