Firefighting efforts today kept pace with the fire’s growth.
Containment remains at 25% and the total size is 52,014 acres. Several crews
arrived on the fire today and there are now more than 400 personnel assigned to
the incident. Hotshot crews assigned to
the eastern flank began building hand line in places where dozers couldn’t
access. On the eastern flank, crews
finished most of the mop up and containment is secure on the entire northwest
quarter of the perimeter.
No new evacuations were called for today and residents that
were evacuated along the Arbon Valley were allowed back to their homes this
morning. Power was restored to the area as Rocky Mountain Power repaired lines
and poles. Beginning tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., the Arbon Valley Road will be
open to the public.
Human-caused wildfires continue to occur on a daily basis
throughout the area. Local land management agencies are urging the public to be
cautious whenever working, travelling or playing in the wildlands. ONE LESS SPARK COULD MEAN ONE LESS WILDFIRE.
