Dewey Fire Update - September 2



FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 2, 2017

(Kamiah) – Today fire crews will continue mop up operations on the 100% contained 48 acre Dewey Fire. Located eight miles northeast of Grangeville near the town of Harpster, no structures were effected and zero injuries were reported.

Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) fire personnel, partners from the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest Service, and the Harpster Rural Fire Department will work today to have the fire in patrol status by the end of the shift.

6 engines, 3 water tenders, and 1 hand crew remain on the fire. The lightning caused fire was reported by a Harpster resident at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 30.
