Ohio Gulch Fire
·         Located five miles north of Hailey, Idaho Department of Lands
·         Size: approximately four acres
·         Contain: unknown
·         Control: unknown
·         Resources: four engines, two water tenders, two excavators, one dozer, BLM type three camp crew
·         Fuel type: compost
·         Fire behavior: smoldering
·         Structures threatened: no
·         Cause: undetermined

Crews continue to work with heavy equipment to extinguish the compost piles. Two excavators and one dozer are breaking up the piles, while engine crews are cooling the debris down with water and foam.
Due to the significant size of the piles and the heat they are producing, BLM does not have an estimate on contain or control time.
As the fire is burning just north of town smoke is affecting the community of Hailey and surrounding neighborhoods. People who are sensitive to smoke should take precautions. Please visit http://www.deq.idaho.gov/air-quality for information regarding air quality.
Additionally, as firefighters are working and operating heavy equipment near the roadway, BLM is urging passersby to use caution and travel slowly along the Ohio Gulch Road.
