Fire Behavior: Creeping and running.
Structures Threatened: No immediate threat to
structures.
Fuels and Terrain: Burning in grass and brush on
flat ground.

Crews/Resources: 21
engines (BLM, USFS, Central Fire District, Madison County Fire Department, Hamer
VFD & Roberts VFD), and 1 helicopter.
Evacuations: None in effect.
Closures: Highway 33 is closed. Closure information is
available through Madison County Sheriff’s Department
Summary: The Badger Point Fire started at
approximately 3:30 p.m. today 9 miles west of Rexburg, south of
Highway 33 in the Menan Butte area. BLM, Forest Service, Central Fire District,
Madison County Fire Department, Hamer VFD and Roberts VFD are working together
to fight the fire. The fire is holding to the west, south and along highway 33.
Crews are working to contain the east side of the fire. Badger Point fire is
expected to be contained tomorrow at 8 p.m.
