of Hamer, (BLM & State lands)
Cause: Lightning
Fire Size: estimated 5,000 acres
Percent
Contained: 0%, no estimated containment
Fire Behavior: Running, fire is pushing to the northeast.
Structures Threatened: No immediate threat to
structures.
Fuels and Terrain: Burning in grass and brush.
Fire
Crews/Resources: 18
engines and watertenders (BLM, USFS, BIA, Central Fire District, South Freemont
County, Hamer VFD & Roberts VFD), Camas Creek RFPA, 1 helicopter and 2
dozers. An additional dozer and 2 20-person handcrews have been ordered.
Evacuations: None in effect.
Closures: None in effect.
Summary: The Devil’s Hole Fire started at
approximately 2p.m. today 10 miles north of Hamer. The fire is pushing
to the northeast, but dozers are making good progress lining the fire. A
burnout was conducted on the west side of the fire, which was successful in
stopping the fire’s progress to the west. There is no estimated containment and
firefighters will continue to fight the fire through the night.
