Location and Jurisdiction: 3 miles southwest of Inkom, in Indian Creek.
Burning on the Caribou-Targhee National Forest
Cause: Lightning
Fire Size: 60 acres
Percent
Contained: 50%, no
estimated date for containment
Fire Behavior: Minimal fire activity with occasional torching
of juniper.
Structures Threatened: Structures were threatened.
They are over a mile away. No structures damaged.
Fuels and Terrain: Burning in grass, brush and
juniper. Burning in steep ground.
Fire Crews/Resources: 5 engines, 1 helicopter and 1 dozer. Multiple
retardant drops were made on the fire.
Evacuations: None in effect.
Closures: None.
Summary: The Indian Creek
Fire started at approximately 1 p.m. on July 9, 2018. Fire activity has decreased
due to the work of the firefighters on the ground with the help of retardant
and helicopter water drops. The fire is still burning brush and juniper within
the interior of the fire perimeter. There is concern of erratic winds from the
thunderstorms passing over, which could pick up fire activity.

• Contained at 8 p.m. on 7/9/18
Oxford, Crystal Creek, Nelson Canyon and Lanark Fires have all
been contained
