Twin Falls District BLM Fire Update

The Twin Falls District received substantial lightning over the last 48 hours. Several thunder storms passed through the area, leaving multiple new starts.  A Red Flag Warning for continued thunder storms remains in effect until midnight tonight.

South Central Idaho Dispatch continues to receive reports of new starts, and resources will continue to respond throughout the night. These new starts will be reported on social media, then added to the fact sheet in the morning.

Ridgeline Fire

       Location: approximately seven miles northeast of Albion
       Size: estimated 1000 acres
       Containment: unknown
       Control: unknown
       Resources: Cassia Rural Fire Department, Albion Rural Fire Department, one Sawtooth National Forest engine, four Twin Falls District BLM Fire Management (TFD) engines, one TFD dozer, one TFD water tender, one Very Large Air Tanker (VLAT), six Single Engine Air Tankers (SEATs), Snake River Hotshot Crew, one Air Attack, one Helitack, TFD camp crew
       Fuel type: grass, brush, juniper
●       Fire behavior: running, torching, spotting
       Structures threatened: not immediately threatened but structures are in the area
       Cause: lightning

Fire fighters are facing extreme fire behavior, high winds, low relative humidity and high temperatures. Passing thunder storms have caused the fire to burn erratically in the heavy fuel. Air and ground resources are working together to create containment lines and slow fire progression. Additional resources have been ordered.

Clover Fire- Final Update

●       Location: approximately 30 miles southwest of Buhl, near Horse Butte
●       Size: 1,257 acres
●       Containment: 7/13 at 12 p.m.
●       Control: 7/14 at 6 p.m.
●       Resources: three Twin Falls District BLM Fire Management engines (TFD) engines, one water tender
●       Fuel type: grass, brush
●       Fire behavior: creeping, smoldering
●       Structures threatened: none
●       Cause: lightning

Pipeline Fire- Final Update

●       Location: approximately 10 miles northwest of Delco, near the I-84/I-86 interchange 
●       Size: 135 acres
●       Containment: 7/12 at 7:30 p.m.
●       Control: 7/13 at 6 p.m.
●       Resources: none
●       Fuel type: grass, brush
●       Structures threatened: none
●       Cause: lightning
