Percent Contained: 0% contained; containment estimated for 8/13/2019 at
10:00 p.m.
Fire Behavior: Running, propelled by 15 mph winds
with gusts up to 20 mph
Fuels and Terrain: Flat terrain burning in brush and grass and other
fine flashy fuels
Fire Crews/Resources: 7 engines, two dozers, air attack, 6 single engine air tankers
(SEATs), Clark County Rangeland Fire Protection Association (RFPA), West
Jefferson, Robert’s Fire Dept., Central Fire, Hamer Fire and Madison Fire

Summary: The Desert Ride Fire started late
Sunday afternoon near the Menan Butte area. The fire is running in fine, flashy
fuels. Various fire department cooperators are also on scene assisting with
firefighting efforts. The spread potential is very high as winds continue to
drive the fire through the brush.
