The Pot Hole fire was
reported to South Central Idaho Interagency Dispatch Center around 1:30 p.m. on
August 6th. The fire grew
quickly, with continuous fuel, high temperatures, low humidity and moderate
winds pushing the flames. A wind shift
late in the evening cause the fire to switch directions and make a big push
towards Horse Butte, adding additional acres. Fire fighters conducted a burn
out operation throughout the night, to help slow the running fire.
Fire fighters face a
difficult day today, with high temperatures, low humidity, moderate winds, and
passing thunderstorms predicted over the fire area. Additional ground and air
resources will arrive throughout the day.
