North Hill Fire

The engines are making their way around the fire perimeter and air tankers have made retardant drops. 
Start Date: August 1, 2019, approx. 6 p.m.  
Location and Jurisdiction: 8 miles southeast of Soda Springs. Located on Idaho Department of Lands.
Cause: Lightning.
Fire Size: 10 acres and growing
Percent Contained: Containment estimated for 8/1/2019 at 10 p.m.
Fire Behavior: Running
Fuels and Terrain: Grass and brush. Steep terrain.
Fire Crews/Resources: 5 engines and 1 dozer (BLM & USFS) 2 single engine air tankers made retardant drops.
Structures Threatened: No structures threatened.
Evacuations: No evacuations.
Closures: No closures.

Rattlesnake Fire
Has been fully contained August 1, 2019 at 6 p.m.

Start Date: July 31, 2019, approx. 4 p.m.  
Location and Jurisdiction: Two miles east of Malad, on the east side of Interstate-15. Located on the Caribou-Targhee National Forest.
Cause: Lightning.
Fire Size: 18 acres
Percent Contained: Contained at 8/1/2019 at 6 p.m.
Fire Crews/Resources: 3 engines and 1 handcrew (BLM & USFS).
Structures Threatened: No structures threatened.
Evacuations: No evacuations.
Closures: No closures.
