The CCC Fire is now 100% contained

Smoke from smoldering interior fuels will be visible well past the point of complete containment as crews work toward control. These smokes pose no threats to the area outside containment lines. Mop up operations will continue to locate and extinguish hot spots.

Current resources include 2 hotshot crews, 8 Type 2 IA crews, 6 engines, and 2 water tenders. Crews are being released as needs lessen; total personnel assigned to the fire is 252.

The CCC Road from Cataldo to Wall Ridge Road, The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes from Cataldo to Kingston, and FS road #259 on the backside of Cataldo Mountain- especially Hardy Saddle will remain closed.

The public is reminded that if you choose to float the Coeur d’Alene river, you will not be permitted to enter closed roads or trails to retrieve your boats.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
