Start Date: 07/17/2020 at approximately 11:55 a.m.

Location and Jurisdiction: 15 miles West of St. Anthony, access off the Egin-Hamer road near the Sand Dunes. (BLM)

Cause: Under investigation

Fire Size: 9.3 Acres

Percent Contained: 100%, full containment on 7/17/20 at 6 p.m.

Fire Behavior: Fire activity has subsided to creeping and smoldering. Winds are in excess of 30 MPH.

Fuels and Terrain: Burning in grass and brush.

Fire Crews/Resources: 8 engines & 5 water tenders (BLM, USFS, Hamer VFD, Madison County & South Fremont Fire Departments), 1 helicopter, 1 retardant plane and a BLM dozer worked the fire today.

Structures Threatened: No structures threatened.

Evacuations: No evacuations.

Closures: No closures. St. Anthony Sand Dunes are still open to recreation.

Summary: Update: The Generic Fire was 100% Contained at 6 P.M. Crews will remain on scene throughout the evening patrolling and mopping up any remaining hot spots.
The Generic Fire started at approximately 11:55 p.m. today 15 miles West St. Anthony and adjacent to the St. Anthony Sand Dunes. Access is off the Egin-Hamer road. BLM, Forest Service, Madison County, South Fremont and the Hamer Fire Departments worked together to fight the fire.
