The Black Canyon fire was contained last night, July 3, at 11 p.m. with control time set for today, July 4 at 6 p.m. Crews continue to improve containment lines and mop up hotpots.


Black Canyon Fire

 

       Location: approximately 5 miles northeast of Bliss, on the north side of Highway 26

       Size: 1005 acres

       Containment: July 3 at 11 p.m.

       Control: July 4 at 6 p.m.

       Resources: five TFD engines

       Fuel type: grass and brush

       Fire behavior: smoldering

       Structures threatened: none

       Cause: under investigation

Don’t let your summer go up in smoke - family BBQs, riding motorcycles/OHVs, roasting marshmallows, and target shooting may be on your list of many outdoor activities on this holiday weekend.
