The Lavaside Fire is approximately 100 acres and growing. The fire is moving south, being pushed by light winds from the north/northeast. Firefighters are aggressively engaging the Lavaside Fire with engines and a bulldozer.

Start Date: April 21, 2021 at approximately 4 p.m.

Location and Jurisdiction: 4 miles west of Firth, visible from Interstate 15. Started on private land.  

Cause: Under investigation

Fire Size: 100 acres and growing.

Percent Contained:  0% contained, no estimated containment.

Fire Behavior: Active and running

Fuels and Terrain: Grass, brush and juniper on flat terrain.

Fire Crews/Resources: 5 engines, 1 dozer (BLM, USFS, BIA) and Bingham County resources. 

Structures Threatened: Structures are a half mile from the fire. 

Evacuations: Contact Bingham County Sheriff for evacuation information.  

Closures: No closures.
